Students may also request a bus on demand using a phone app, BATA Link.  Parents, you may schedule and pay for these rides all in the app.  A bus comes to get your child, the app tells you when the bus is arriving, that it has picked up its passengers, and that it arrives to its destination.  It also tells the driver when the ride is already paid for with the app - giving you one less thing to worry about.  Upload a "How to Ride" BATA Link Cheat Sheet here.

Route/School Details

Take the free Bayline to Northwest Michigan College, Central High School, Central Neighborhood, Northwest Education Services, Creekside School, Career Tech Center (a short walk to Traverse City High School), Greenspire Middle School, West Middle School, and TCAPS Montessori School

Route 7 travels along Garfield, Lafranier, South Airport, and US 31 to Meijer where students at TCAPS Montessori and West Middle School can access this route.

Route 10 from Traverse City can serve the Suttons Bay Public Schools and could stop at the Pathfinder School too.

Route 12 moves Interlochen Art Academy students between their campus and Traverse City and stops at West Middle School (and Grand Traverse Mall) along the way. It also connects to the Benzie Bus.

Route 13 from Traverse City can bring students to or from Greenspire High School, NMC University Center, East Middle School, SEAS, and Kingsley schools.

Route 14 from Traverse City can connect students between downtown Traverse City and Traverse City High School on 3-Mile Road, as well as connect to Central High School, NMC's Main and Great Lakes campuses, the Bayline, Kalkaska Area Transit, and the Acme Meijer.  Students at CTC can ask Route 14 to deviate there as well.

WEST:  West Senior High School and Children's House Montessori students have an option between downtown Traverse City and campus.  The bus leaves BATA's Hall Street station in downtown Traverse City at 7:35am and returns at dismissal each school day.  Students may catch and disambark the bus at Front/Maple & Front/Cedar as well.  Call 231-778-1035 or email for details.  * For TCAPS early release and half days, WEST will depart WSH earlier.  Because of limited driver resources, WEST will not be able to return to take The Children's House students home on these days unless staff is available.

Seasonal Route 16 takes students to Old Mission Peninsula School from Traverse City.

Seasonal Route 31 takes students from Traverse City to the Grand Traverse Civic Center, Grand Traverse Academy, Woodland School, and Oleson's near East Middle School.
