EZ Fare is coming in December 2026 (it was delayed while small technology tweaks are finalized)!  Yes, you can still pay with cash and purchase and reload plastic fare cards.  But you will also eventually be able to pay with your phone, get fare capping benefits for frequent riders, load your fare cards from home or at area retail stores, pay with credit cards/Apple/Samsung/Google Pay on buses and more!  Zip, Zoom, and Commuter passes are still available to purchase until this program goes live and old passes will be valid until mid March, 2027.  

 

You may explore the new EZfare by creating an account at https://ezfare.justride.tickets/login.  However, this will NOT be live on buses until December, 2026.  Follow BATA's service alerts, social media, The Transit App, or check back to this web page for updates.  Your may email clarkw@bata.net for any questions regarding this service.

 

Purchase BATA fare passes at Hall Street Transfer Station located at 115 Hall Street, Traverse City.  At this time, fare passes cannot be purchased at BATA's LaFranier Park-n-Ride.

Reduced fares of 50% off of the ticket prices are available for students, seniors 60 and over, active military, veterans, and persons with disabilities.  Children 5 & Under ride FREE with a paying adult!

Do you have a library card?  All of Grand Traverse and Leelanau County libraries will check out free BATA fare cards to you for FREE!

There are residents and families in our community who struggle to afford transportation costs.  Consider purchasing BATA transit cards for people in need and donating them to the groups who can distribute them.  Father Fred, Central United Methodist Church, Grand Traverse Commission on Aging, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Safe Harbor, and TCAPS's Student Support Network are some of the groups in our region that regularly distribute BATA passes. You can purchase some of these passes through these organizations, or purchase passes at BATA's Hall Street to deliver to them yourself.
