ADA Program Assessment and Evaluation

RFP# BATA-1-2020: The Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA) seeks to obtain proposals from a consultant or consulting firm specializing in the area of transit service development relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act. The purpose of this activity is to conduct an ADA assessment and evaluation of BATA operations. A comprehensive review will be administered through the lens of the ADA requirements as well as that of the individuals with disabilities who are transit dependent. The outcome of this contract will be a detailed summary of each transit component identifying their ADA supports and services, their compliance with the ADA, and their potential to go beyond the ADA in the provision of best practice that improves the transit experience beyond basic expectations. Proposals must be submitted by April 1, 2020, 4:00 PM (eastern). Due to coronavirus impacts, electronic submission acceptable - hard copy/USB submission not required.

Technology Evaluation and Acquisition Plan

RFP# BATA-2-2020: The Bay Area Transportation Authority seeks to obtain proposals to create a Technology Evaluation and Acquisition Plan from a single firm/institution or collaboration of consulting firms specializing in the areas of Public Transportation System Technology Implementation, Data Systems Management, and Customer Information System Deployment. Experience in Information Technology Systems (ITS) Infrastructure and current public transit technology trends is desired. The results of this evaluation and planning project shall provide necessary information for the BATA Board of Directors and BATA staff to use in addressing any baseline technology system gaps, and use recommendations to determine suitable and sequential technology implementation steps to be taken toward the deployment of public transit management systems and customer information systems as resources permit. Proposals must be submitted by March 20, 2020, 4:00 PM (eastern). Transit Master Plan

RFP# BATA-3-2020: The Bay Area Transportation Authority is seeking proposals to hire a consultant to assist with the creation of a Five-Year Transit Master Plan. This plan shall identify future growth in BATA’s service area and help identify how BATA can best utilize its limited resources to maximize the benefit to its community. Based on this information along with an analysis of projected growth, the selected proposer will help develop guiding principles for the organization along with implementation strategies for possible service improvements, including operational and capital requirements for the next 5 years. Proposals must be submitted by March 13, 2020, 5:00 PM (eastern).

Vehicle Collision Avoidance System

RFP# BATA-4-2020. The Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA) seeks Proposals from qualified vendors for the installation and support of a Vehicle Collision Avoidance System. As part of a research project to assess the benefits of early connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies for transit agencies, BATA intends to deploy an advanced driver assistance system on a subset of their vehicle fleet. This pilot project will be carefully documented in order to provide guidance to other transit agencies exploring similar technology solutions. Proposals must be submitted by March 27, 2020, 4:00 PM (eastern). Updated: Extended to April 3, 2020 due to COVID-19.

Owner’s Representation Services

RFP# BATA-5-2020: The Bay Area Transportation Authority is seeking proposals to request Owner’s Representation Services for the land acquisition and construction of a new public transportation maintenance and administrative facility (known as BATA Headquarters), and an adjacent transfer station. The firm / person selected as part of this RFP will act as the “Owner’s Representative” for BATA and perform all responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director in conjunction with the planning, design, construction, move-in and close-out of the identified projects. Additionally, the firm /person will work with elected BATA officials and BATA staff to advise the Executive Director on the identified projects. BATA staff will be responsible for processing payments to contractors and will retain all contracts. Proposals must be submitted by April 15, 2020, 5:00 PM (eastern).
