Your middle school child loves to ski and snowboard after school, but not all parents can taxi their kids at that time.

That’s where BATA comes in.

Our Ski-n-Ride program makes transportation easier for families to enjoy Hickory Hills after school but before the 'Mom and Dad Uber Service' is available.

2024 Season

BATA will stop at East Middle School, SEAS, and West Middle School on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at dismissal (every full school day) to pick up and transport students to Hickory Hills Recreation Area. Hickory Hills' slopes open at 3:30 for alpine skiing, the lodge will open at 3:00, and Nordic skiing is available too.  BATA buses are equipped to be able to hold any ski gear you have (and Hickory Hills has very reasonable rental rates at less than $20); contact your child's middle school or Hickory Hills to inquire about suggestions for daytime equipment storage/drop off.

Bus arrives at the south entrance/parking lot of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Middle School (SEAS) at 2:33 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and leaves promptly after boarding.

Bus arrives at the east gym doors of East Middle School at 2:45 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and leaves promptly after boarding.

Bus arrives at the 6th grade wing bus doors of West Middle School by 3:00 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and leaves promptly after boarding.  The bus will arrive at Hickory Hills at around 3:15pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Grand Traverse Ski Club members ride as part of their club fees, and other students can donate a fare with their phones (download the Journey by Bytemark app, puchase a Village Loop or Ski-n-Ride student ticket) if they are able.  All aboard the Ski-n-Ride!  All students and staff are welcome!

Parents can pick up their children at Hickory Hills (2000 Randolph St, Traverse City, MI 49684), which closes at 8:30 PM on weekdays.  BATA also offers on-demand ride requests for getting home from the slopes.  Call 231-941-2324 or visit www.bata.net/link to schedule your ride.
