January 2019 Route Improvements

What you need to know

Starting on Monday, Jan. 7 , 2019 we’re making some minor adjustments to our City Loop and Village Loop routes. These route adjustments are being made based on rider and driver feedback and to improve route timing and service delivery.

January 2019 Route Improvements Reminder: On Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, BATA will be making minor route improvements to a handful of routes based on rider feedback. Below is a list of the updates:

City Loops:

Route 4 (Red): Route 4 is adding a fixed route stop on West Royal Drive next to the Munson Dialysis Center. Route 4 timing will be modified slightly to accommodate this additional stop and it will still operate on a 45-minute frequency. Munson Dialysis patients can still use BATA’s Link service for door-side service.

Route 5 (Gold): Route 5’s route path is being adjusted so it can again service Father Fred on Hastings St. and the bus shelter next to Save-a-Lot near Carter and Garfield Road. To accommodate these two new stops, the Route 5 stops at Centre and Garfield are being discontinued. Route 5 is also adding a stop at the Sugar Plumb Apartment complex on Whitehill Lane off Garfield Road. Route 5 timing will be modified slightly to accommodate the additional stops and it will still operate on a 45-minute frequency.

Village Loop:

Route 14 – Williamsburg/Acme: Route 14 is adding a stop at the Traverse Health Clinic on Garfield Road to provide a direct connection to downtown and its route path is being streamlined by removing a few stops or making them available by deviation request only. Those stops include:

  • Father Fred
  • Aero-Park
  • Current stops along State, Rose and Hannah. There will still be a Route 14 stop at Family Fare at 8th and Rose Street.
  • Route 14 timing will be modified slightly to accommodate the new route path and it will still operate on hourly loops.
