Mobility Networking Day

 

Join us for a day of education, training, referrals and technical assistance to help improve transportation for persons with disabilities, their families and support systems.

Where: BATA’s Hall Street Transfer Station at 115 Hall St., Traverse City, MI 49684

 

 

When: Wednesday, June 15 from 9 a.m. until noon

 

 

Who: Participants will include area agencies such as BATA, the Disability Network and Grand Traverse Industries to provide information and education relative to each organization’s specialty areas.

 

 

What: The focus of the event is to identify appropriate and secure locations on mobility devices to allow safe securement while traveling on board a BATA vehicle or using other transportation. This event will also allow partner agencies to collaboratively share information to education people with disabilities, professionals and the community at large. Activities will include:

  • BATA vehicles and staff will provide safety demonstrations in wheelchair lift usage (boarding / alighting) and wheelchair securement inside the vehicle.
  • Education on BATA policies related to mobility devices, carry-ons, service animals, reduced fare, Link on-demand services and no-shows.
  • Agency partner tables and activities featuring each organization’s services and expertise.
